India’s Second Tallest Flag Pole Has Been Inaugurated in Kolhapur

India’s second tallest flag pole has been Inaugurated in Kolhapur. The pole which is 303 feet high has been constructed in the Police training academy garden as a part of the Kolhapur beautification project.

The poll is 90 metres tall and 60 metres wide and weights 24 tonne. Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis inaugurated the pole by spreading a national flag of 5400sq ft as a part of the ‘Maharashtra Din’ celebrations in the state.

In the ceremony, Senior Cabinet Ministers and Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar were present. The garden which was also inaugurated on Monday is host to different types of flowering plants from India as well as other countries.

The aim of developing the garden is to learn about the Indian armed forces and police to inspire the generation to join them. Independence struggle from 1857 to 1947 have been created inside the garden.

All the efforts have been taken by a registered trust, Kolhapur Street Beautification Project which will also look after its maintenance.
