The US Army has its biggest non-nuclear bomb ever deployed in the war on Thursday in the tunnel camp of Islamic State in eastern Afghanistan near the Pakistani border.
Pentagon said that the ‘GBU 43 / B Huge Ordinance Air Blast’ (MOAB) bomb was dropped in the ‘tunnel premises’ of ISIS Khorsan in Aitchin district of Nangarhar province.
The name of this bomb is ‘Mother of all Bombs.
Pentagon spokesman Adam Stump said that this weapon is being used for the first time in the fight. GPS-guided MBAB, weighing 21600 pounds(9,797 kg), is America’s most powerful non-nuclear bomb.
US President Donald Trump said that he had allowed bombing in Afghanistan and described it as “very successful”.
Trump told reporters in the White House, ‘This is actually a successful operation. We are proud of our army, ‘Trump said,’ I do not know whether North Korea gets the message or not. It does not matter if North Korea is a problem this problem will be solved.
White House press secretary Shawn Spiceer said at a daily press conference that the bomb was dropped at around seven o’clock in the evening at the local time in Afghanistan.
